“Former CMB-NG Awardee Receives Fulbright Fellowship”

Mr. Jayson P. Bingcang of the Philippine Science High School- Main Campus was awarded a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, a Fulbright exchange, enhances leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address local and global challenges and foster change for the world’s collective good. This prestigious award is administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, United States Department of State with the cooperation of the Institute of International Education (IIE). Mr. Bingcang will be hosted by the Peabody College at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee from August 2021 to June 2022. This will be his second time to be granted a US-government sponsored fellowship. In 2017, he was one of the fellow of the International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) now called Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program (Fulbright-DAI). Fulbright- DAI is also a program of the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF-Fulbright Philippines) within the country.  He studied for a semester at Kent State University in Ohio.

Mr. Bingcang, the former chief of the Division of Student Affairs, also earned the Cleofe Bacungan Natatanging Guro Award by the Philippine Science High School Foundation Inc. in 2017. For this year’s edition, the nomination for the 5th Cleofe M. Bacuñgan Natatanging Guro (CMB NG) Award is now open. The deadline for nomination will be on September 3, 2021 Pisay communities are encouraged to nominate eligible teachers from the 16 campuses around the country.  This prestigious award aims to recognize outstanding teachers in the STEM and Humanities categories from the Philippine Science High School System.
